During my time at Walgreens, we built the social & content team from the ground up. We added full photography & videography capabilities for the whole digital department that hadn't existed prior. Below, are just a few examples that we have created over the past 9 years. Some of these photos I shot myself and some I art directed or creative directed. The titles held over the course of this work were Art Director and Associate Creative Director.

Building a
world class studio

During my time at Walgreens we built out the photo/video capabilites from the ground up and grew the workstream to eventually build out a $1m+ studio.

Beauty look books

Elevating Walgreens beauty through implementing branded photography that I learned at my experience at Express. This lead to many conversations on elevating our internal team’s capabilities and ultimately enabled us to scale into video production and eventually 3D. Huge help from Lauria Locsmondy and Mike Pierce to spur on this initiative.

Set design and scaling photography

One of our hardest challenges was scaling photography to meet the needs of a fortune 20 brand. What started out as scrappy shoots, lead to more operationalized processes and eventually a consolidation of both photo studios onto my team. Since the re-org, we’ve updated all of our gear and implemented a buy back program to ensure our gear never falls out of date again.

Scaling video

Once we moved into video, we had the challenge of identifying new ways of storytelling. These two samples below are examples of how the team expanded our internal thinking at the time to elevate how we approach video through editing, and shooting styles like the one-take on the left below.

Health Expertise

Partnering up with the clinical department was one of the more transformational relationships we created. This partnership helped us unlock utility based content that customers want to see and are looking for from our brand regarding health. Here are some of the examples of the work that came out of the team and the relationship we cultivated.
